Getting Started

I am a new user. How do I start?
To select and purchase a product see our How to Order page in the Customer Care section of our website.  To access your purchased Transcender products you will normally create a Transcender Club account.  If you have never created a Club Account, you can do so from the Transcender Club area. Click on the "Join" button and complete the registration form with the required information. The system will create a Club Account for you with the information you specified.  If you do not have an internet connection to activate your CD-ROM product you will activate your purchased CD-ROM product using the Manual Product Activation method described below.

I am an existing user. How do I login?
The site always displays a Transcender Club link in the upper right corner of the website pages. To login, input your email address and password and click "Sign-in". From the Transcender Club Home Page you can access your purchased products, change your personal preferences information, sign-up for Question of the Day, view your Special Offers, access Articles and White Papers or take our quick survey.

How do I access my purchased products and free demos?
Login to your Transcender Club account, go to the top left tab of the Club Home Page called "Club Account" and click on "Access Products".  Choose the product you wish to access and click "Go!"  If you purchased a TranscenderCert CD-ROM or download Practice Exam you will download the Transcender Test Engine first and then download your exam file.

How do I start a test?
Start the Transcender Test Engine. If you are a first-time user you will be prompted to create a user profile as described below. To start an exam, click the start button next to the exam you want to take.  The system will then prompt you to activate your product.

How do I create a profile in the Transcender Test Engine?
When launching the Transcender Test Engine for the first time, the application user will be presented with the Create Profile screen. The user profile enables the application user to specify their testing preferences and enables the Transcender Test Engine to maintain an exam history for the user.

You will need to specify the following information to create your user profile: first and last name, e-mail address, and a password. You will use your e-mail address to login. If you want to automatically login to the Transcender Test Engine with the specified profile each time the Transcender Test Engine is started, select the "Auto-Login to this profile" check box. After completing the required information, click Create Profile. Once your user profile is set, you can update it at any time through the Update Profile function found in the test engine main menu under Options >> User Profile.

Important note:
If the "Auto-login to this profile" check box is selected on the User Profile screen, the Login screen will not display when the Transcender Test Engine is started. Instead, the user is automatically logged in with the selected user profile.

How do I activate my product(s)?
Login to the test engine after creating your user profile. The test engine will then display a list of the installed products on the Practice Exams screen. Your practice exams must be activated prior to use. If you have not activated your products, a message will be displayed when you click Start next to the practice exam you want to launch. Click OK and you will see the Product Activation screen which allows you to choose between Automated or Manual product activation.  
 
  Use Automated Activation if you:
  • have a live internet connection

Use Manual Activation if you:
  • tried Automated Activation, but could not activate, or
  • do not have a live internet connection

How do I use Automated Product Activation?
From the Transcender Test Engine Product Activation screen select Automated Activation and click Next. The Website Authentication screen will display next.

Enter your login and password for the Transcender website (www.transcender.com). You must use the same login and password you used to purchase the Transcender product so that the appropriate list of products can be processed. If someone (such as your department manager) purchased the product on your behalf, the product must be Transferred to your account, then follow the steps of Manual product activation. Once you have entered the login credentials, click Login.

If you use a proxy server in your environment to connect to the Internet, you may need to configure your proxy server explicitly for the Automated Activation function to work. Click Configure to access the Proxy/Firewall Settings setup screen. Specify your login credentials and proxy server name. You may also specify the port number to connect with which to connect. Click OK to update your settings.

Once you have clicked Login on the website authentication screen, the Transcender Test Engine will communicate with the Transcender website to complete your product activation. If you cannot connect to the Internet for some reason, you will be instructed to use Manual Activation. If website authentication is established, a list of your installed practice exams will be displayed. You may selectively choose which products to activate or choose to activate all simultaneously. Click Activate Now to process your selections.

If your activation request was processed successfully you will receive a confirmation message.
If your activation request was not successful, a message will prompt you to activate your product(s) via the Manual Activation procedure.

How do I use Manual Product Activation?
Manual product activation allows you to activate your Transcender products in one of four ways:

Activate via Internet
Please write down your System ID from the System ID box from the Transcender Test Engine. Go to another computer that does have a live internet connection. Go to www.transcender.com/activate and login to your Club account. Go to the Activate Products page and type your System ID into the System ID box on the website. Follow the instructions to get your System Key. Copy your system key from the website, go back to your original computer and transcribe the System Key into the system key box in the Transcender Test Engine.

Activate via Email
You may e-mail support@transcender.com with your System ID and your Order # or Registration Code. Please include your name, address and daytime telephone number in your email.

Activate via Phone or Fax
You may call Transcender during business hours (9:00 - 6:00 Eastern time, Monday - Friday) at 1-866-639-8765 or 678-277-3200. Please have your System ID and your Order # or Registration Code available. You can also fax us at 770-645-0744 with your System ID and your Order # or Registration Code. Please include your name, address and daytime telephone number in your fax.
